We now have a Contactless Card Machine at the back of the Church. If you would like to make your offertory via this it is very simple.

• Tap the amount you wish to donate.
• The machine will ask you if you would like to Gift Aid your donation – if you are tax payer, please do so as it will add 25% to your donation. Simply enter you name and address and tap Gift Aid (you will only have to do this once, as the machine will remember your details).
• When prompted, tap your card on the top of the machine.
• For donations over £45 you will need to open the top of the machine and insert you card to the top of the reader and enter your pin number.

Some people have asked how they can continue to give their offering to the Parish. If you are able to, please either make an electronic transfer or set up a standing order to the Parish Bank account. (Forms can be downloaded here)

Our Call to Stewardship

‘All things come from you and your own have we given you’ 1 Chronicles 29:14

Many churches in the archdiocese have already had a ‘Drive’ appeal focusing on STEWARDSHIP. The idea of this is that everyone in the parish gives from the three ‘T’s – TIME, TREASURE & TALENTS.

The call to stewardship gives parishioners the opportunity to rethink again about how they can contribute to the parish. There are many ways of helping in the church and in our church community. New ways are now being developed to make regular financial giving more convenient – and they are not complicated.

Over three weekends (Sundays 13th, 20th & 27th September) we made a special appeal at all Masses. Fr. Michael addressed everyone with further information and invitation to help with this important outreach.

It makes sense – if you are a UK tax payer, please “gift aid” your donations to the church. It boosts your contribution by 25%. You can withdraw from the scheme any time you wish. You are not committed to giving a fix sum – you give as much or as little you like, whenever you like. Your details are kept totally confidential.

Gift Aid is an easy way to increase the donations you give to the Parish at Mass by 25%, without actually giving anything extra!

If you are a UK taxpayer, the scheme enables the parish to claim back from the Inland Revenue an additional 25p for every pound you contribute. 

What is required for this refund to be obtained?

• You must be a UK taxpayer and pay an amount of income tax at least equal to the amount you donated each year.
• You must complete a Gift Aid Declaration – see below

How does the system work?

• You can make your contributions to the Church using a weekly numbered envelope which will be supplied to you, by bankers order (i.e. standing order – see below for standing order form) or by cheque.
• Gift Aid is not a binding commitment – the actual money that you donate is entirely up to you.
• If you stop paying Income Tax, or wish to cancel, the Declaration can be immediately cancelled.
• How much you donate to the church by Gift Aid is completely confidential.
